Mask of MagnamintyMask of Magnaminty

Hi Beautiful!

It’s about time that I share my new current obsession, well really it’s not that new as I am obsessed with this product for years but I recently ran out of it and realised how obsessed I really am with this and that nothing quite does the trick like my favorite Lush product, Mask of Magnaminty….
Now if you don’t know this about me yet! I am a huge Lush-ie! No, not the drinking kind just a huge fan of the Lush Cosmetic and Soap store.
3 years ago, when I had my baby boy, he was born with this awful and rare eczema and I tried everything to find a cure; homemade methods, conventional  medicine, he saw just about every doctor in Cork, even dermatologist, homeopaths, dietician, naturalist and even sought more help from other oddly named professions….so even after all that still had no answers….of course I didn’t give up, but just let the search for a cure die down a bit….and on a lovely weekend in Cork with the family, having ice cream and this beautiful wonderful new shop on Oliver Plunkett St., I see the lovely store in the heart of Cork City, which I had always seen and was curious about in the past, but I always figured it was just soaps and bubble bath and with (at that time) 3 small kids at home I never had much time (despite a lot of need)for the whole at home pampering and mummy bubbly bath. But along came Jack and I needed to find an answer for this poor lil baby, his skin would get so bad sometimes and it was constantly red and dry patches everywhere, sometimes his skin would even bleed and cortisol was not a long term solution. So I walked into Lush and met the most wonderful and caring sales attendant, she was so kind, patient and truly cared about my son’s skin problem. Well, in the end, I took loads of sample and some Lil’ things for mama and I found a cure for Jack with the Dream cream and Dream wash from Lush. I also found an amazing mask that day….and well let’s just say I’ve never been able to walk away from Lush since empty handed. I was so glad there was one in Dusseldorf when I moved, so I can still keep my favourite products stocked up!
SO I will let you girls know about loads of wonderful Lush products in future blogs but today’s blog is about my obsession with the Mask of Magnaminty…
Ok so why am I obsessed?
Well, first of all, the smell of this mask is amazing! It is so refreshing and of course minty that you instantly feel refreshed and clean. Although it is extremely cleansing, it does not leave your skin stripped of your natural oils and you feel a sense of tightening of the skin in the rejuvenating sense but not in the way that the skin can feel dry and tight.
Lush has all natural ingredients and I’ve learned that the more natural products are, using natural fruit acids, kaolin clay, and essential oils the better your skin responds to the product and the more benefits you get from your skincare.
Technically, it is a face mask but I use it as a face scrub/wash daily, sometimes as a mask or sometimes just as a spot minimizer. It cleans your pores so well and really exfoliates the skin, with aduki beans. You know how I feel about the importance of exfoliation and this is gentle enough to use every day, you can really achieve glowing beautiful skin.
So the ingredients alone would make you obsessed; China clay, fresh peppermint, aduki beans, honey, vanilla, evening primrose seeds, African Marigold Oil.
Overall, I just find it is great for any type of skin, any age, oily, combination, dry even sensitive (which I am) etc. It is a product I just couldn’t live without and it lasts forever because a little goes a long way and it is very thick and rich in its application. It also is not expensive at all….16 euro for 230 ml, that normally can last me 2 months or even 3 if I am using another cleanser in conjunction with this one.

Fresh ingredients

Bentone Gel , Kaolin , Honey , Talc , Ground Aduki Beans (Phaseolus Angularis) , Glycerine , Evening Primrose Seeds (Oenothera biennis) , Peppermint Oil (Mentha piperita) , African Marigold Oil (Tagetes erecta) , Fair Trade Vanilla Absolute (Vanilla Planifolia) , *Limonene ,Fragrance , Methylparaben , Chlorophyllin . *Occurs naturally in essential oils

So girls and boys as this product is great for everyone…get your hands on some of my current obsession at your Local Lush store…and let us know what you think about it….And of course Stay Yummy!

A Yummy Mummy Food for Thought

A great bonus about buying from Lush is they are a very ethical company who use all vegetarian based products, some are even vegan-friendly, they use all organic and pure ingredients, and do not test on animals. A lot of their profits are invested into real issues that are affecting the world or projects to create some positive change in the world. They advertise and blog about the causes they are supporting and you then of course are supporting those causes when buying their products. They also believe in ethical buying which is buying ingredients from small time farmers and producers to be able to support the economy in these under-developed parts of the world. Supporting a company like this that has great ethics as well as products is a win-win for all, so you can look great and feel great!
